The Italian breakfast

The Italian breakfast should be simple: just a coffee and a piece of pastry.

Very basic, right? But if that coffee is a cappuccino and that pastry is a cornetto, the simple becomes amazing.

Italian cappuccino is an art itself. It’s made with espresso coffee, hot milk and the foam of that milk. It’s so classic it hurts.

And what is a cornetto?

It’s also a speciality of Italian cuisine, but not so well known as the coffee. It’s a dough that resembles a croissant, but the shape is slightly different. And the filling is the best part: pure and abundant Nutella that will escape every bite. Have your tongue ready to catch it.

For some of you this might seem not enough for breakfast, but keep in mind that for lunch in Rome you will eat all the pasta of the universe. It’s better to start your day with a smaller dish and make room for the best.

Although I gotta tell you: for me cappuccino and cornetto are quite enough and you can find it almost everywhere.

What do you think about having ‘just’ a coffee and a cornetto? Where did you have the best one? Tell me on the comments!
