One of my favorites views in Trastevere is from Ponte Sisto towards the Lungo il Tevere at night. The lights reflect on the river and it becomes a special and romantic place to get a beer or enjoy “Aperitivo” time.
This place is a summer market. It has some restaurants, stores that sell clothes and other souvenirs and games for the kids (and for the parents, let’s be honest). It can be crowded during the weekend, but on weekdays is quite enjoyable.
If you don’t feel like having a drink here because the prices are on the touristy side, you can buy a beer in a liquor store and walk the market from one bridge to another. It’s a great idea.
But… if you’re feeling like having something here, go to Nanni’ and seat on a table close to the river. Get “pizza al taglio”, it means square cuts of pizza, drink an Aperol Spritz or another of the variations that they have of this drinks and contemplate the sunset and the night while the lights start to go on through the market. You will remember this forever.
